Journées du Patrimoine 2014 - 20 & 21 September

This year, the theme of these two days is «Cultural Heritage-Natural Heritage», a theme that is right up our alley since Courances is a domain that combines both Culture and Nature.

On the programme of these special heritage days: guided visits of the Château, guided visits of the park, and, for the first time, you will be able to visit the original vegetable garden of the Château, refurbished in 2013!

Hours

Courances will be open from 11am to 6pm, on Saturday 20 September and Sunday 21 September.

Entrance

The entrance for all the venues described below can only be purchased at the ticket office of the Château, 13 rue du château 91490 Courances. Access to the vegetable garden takes place through the park.

Natural Heritage - The new vegetable garden opens to the public

Cultivated once again since 2013, the vegetable garden of the Château spreads out on 3 hectares adjoining the park. Created at the initiative of Valentine de Ganay, « Les Jardins de Courances » supply a wide array of fruit and vegetables to leading Parisian restaurateurs (Alléno) as well as private individuals. Visitors are also welcome to come buy fresh produce!

Thanks to the work of Antoine Berthelin, one of the initiators of the success encountered by the Rosendal’s Garden in Stockholm, Sweden, the vegetable garden will become officially «organic» in 2015.

For the first time, you can discover this new space from 11am to 6pm, Saturday and Sunday. You can either visit the vegetable garden on your own, using our flyer distributed when you arrive, or partake in a guided visit by Antoine Berthelin, at 3pm on both days. No reservation is necessary.

Rate: Park + Vegetable garden = 5,50 €, tickets can only be purchased at the ticket office.
