Dear internaut, welcome to Courances's new website.  Visit it regularly and you will discover new images and information each time…

The Dôme The recently restaured "Dôme" is gradually ageing … quietly taking on a patina. Do you know this pleasure island hidden behind the hedges that surround the « Baigneuse » ? It is discretely indicated on purpose. The stone work,  the 17th century lead piping, and what in the four corners appear to be champagne coolers, have been completely dismantled and rebuilt to allow us to enjoy this little hidden sanctuary once again. In certain 16th and 17th century documents there is mention of a grotto, from where one could see without being seen. See what? Without being seen by whom ? For you to imagine…
The new sign posts After two years of discussion and reflection with the designers Nadine Cahen and Laurent Gregori, new sign posts have been designed and will be put in place. This is largely due to the generosity of the local council. The sign posts you will see along your promenade will not give you the impression of being in a public park. The idea was to play with the reflections that are everywhere in Courances, with it's 17 ponds and 14 springs …
Les Petits Bateaux Les petits bateaux (the little boats) will be back to sail around Courances on the 10th and 11th of June. A new site has been created, www.couranceslespetitsbateaux.fr.to, to welcome the inscriptions of modelists. They will be many more than last year and there will also be other animations around the theme of water. In 2005 the French Navy had installed a lifesize submarine turret on the Rond de Moigny, the pond at the end of the main perspective ! The water hens that were nesting there seemed not not at all disturbed but amused – as were the 6000 children who came with their families. We will keep you posted on the evolution of this adventure…
